“Gilmore Girls” actor Edward Herrmann, who has acted in films, stage and documentaries died on December 31, 2014. He was 71.
He was suffering from brain cancer and had been in the hospital for several weeks. His agent has announced the sad news to millions of fans through a statement.
At the time of his demise, he was surrounded by his wife Star and his children.
Actress Lauren Graham expressed her grief on the death of the actor. Graham had played the role of Herrmann’s daughter in the much popular American comedy-drama series- Gilmore Girls.
“My friend Ed Herrmann was the kindest, classiest, most talented man,” Graham posted on her Twitter handle expressing her thoughts.
Herrmann had many achievements and had been nominated for the Emmy Awards for many times. He won the award for his role in “The Practice”, in 1999.
According to reports, Herrmann loved playing his character of President Roosevelt in multiple TV movies.
He was admitted at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he breathed his last. He was being treated for brain cancer.
Hermann also featured in a number of movies, including “The Wolf of Wall Street” and “Red”. He was also extremely active on stage and has worked on a number of projects. He also appeared on “How I Met Your Mother” in 2013.
Herrmann learned his art and love for acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and had graduated from the much known Bucknell University.
He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters from his first marriage.
