Actor Michael Nyqvist, known for his roles in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and John Wick, died of a lung cancer this month. Nyqvist still has three movies that have yet to be released.
His roles as Kurt Hendricks (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) and Viggo Tarasov (John Wick) have been his recent castings as of the decade. Kurt Hendricks was the main villain that Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) tracks to save himself and his organization. Meanwhile, Viggo Tarasov is the father of Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen) who tried to prevent the relentless assassin, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), from killing his son. Both these roles were well-executed and a treat to watch once in action. Aside from Hollywood films, Nyqvist also starred in Swedish films like the original The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie as Mikael Blomkvist
According to his family’s statements from The Guardian, Rolf Ake Michael Nyqvist was an endeared person in both his work and family: “Michael’s joy and passion were infectious to those who knew and loved him. His charm and charisma were undeniable, and his love for the arts was felt by all who had the pleasure of working with him,” In testament to that, Gerard Butler (The Ugly Truth, 300) posted a video on his Facebook page talking about his Hunter Killer co-star’s death. So far, Nyqvist still has three movies to be released this 2017 and 2018. Hunter Killer is a 2017 action thriller film that will feature Butler and Nyqvist. Nyqvist’s other upcoming movies are military drama film Radegund and drama film Kursk that covers the 2000 Kursk submarine disaster. Both Radegund and Kursk is slated for release this coming 2018. Fans and other interested film buffs can watch these films to see Nyqvist’s last appearances in his career.
