Fans and geeks alike will be glad to know that their favorite badass superhero, Deadpool, is once again back in action. Deadpool 2 star, Ryan Reynolds, teased his fans by posting a photo of a clapper on his Instagram page.

Reynolds, who stars as Deadpool himself, got a bit too excited and gave fans a teaser of what is to come. Although the post is a mere photo of a clapper, this signals the year in the making of Deadpool 2, which will be released on the same month next year.

The sequel will be directed by John Wick co-director David Leitch. Deadpool 2 will be his second solo directorial effort following the upcoming Charlize Theron punk action movie Atomic Blonde.

Although the Reynolds worked with Tim Miller, the first movie’s director, Miller dropped off of the gig due to creative differences. Nevertheless, Reynolds pushed on and continued the work with writer Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Later on, the script was brought to Drew Goddard for a consult and some fine-tuning.

Another controversial topic of the movie is the casting of Cable. Initially, there were rumors the Brad Pitt was considered to play the role. Eventually, Josh Brolin was cast to play Cable in the Deadpool sequel. Joining Reynolds and Brolin in Deadpool 2 is Zazie Beets who will play as Domino in the movie.

In addition to the Instagram post, there are a few more Deadpool 2 set images posted on the Internet, some of which are on Twitter. X-Men Updates posted a series of photos showing our beloved badass superhero crashing a kid’s birthday party. Donning his iconic superhero mask, it looks like fans will be in for a whirlwind of adventures when the movie airs next year.

Deadpool 2 will be released globally on June 1, 2018. The first movie grossed around $800 million in the box office.
